IS the country going to the dogs?
Considering the present situation, the answer anyone would give will be in the affirmative.
Why not? Media killings continue, grisly murders abound, a suspected terrorist bombing activity on a bus along EDSA, unsolved crimes and rampant carnapping all around.
Not to mention political accommodations, Kamag-Anak Inc., and Kaibigan/Kaklase Inc., a seemingly uncaring leadership, save for fast cars and sexy chicks.
Do we still have a government in our midst?

The Year of the Rabbit is slowly proving to be the ‘year of sablay’ for the Aquino administration.
Proof of this was the admission of Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin that the government was caught flatfooted on Tuesday’s bus explosion despite the fact that the authorities had been tipped off about a possible terror attack.
Also, President Aquino, on national television, admitted that the bombing was an act of terrorism.
But in a sudden change of mind, P-Noy and his wards are looking to downgrade the bombing from terrorism to destabilization to extortion. Ano ba talaga, kuya?

This bombing should serve as wake-up call for P-Noy, who must focus on effective governance and not bank on his popularity to wiggle his way out of troubles and controversies.
What Aquino is doing at present is using the charm that catapulted him to Malacanang to convince the public that he is doing something to address the situation.
Past surveys have shown that Noynoy still enjoys the trust and confidence of the public (or those who voted for him in the May 2010 elections).
But as they say, what goes up must come down and Noynoy’s huge popularity will surely dip now that the public is starting to realize that his government is no different from the previous administration.
Sabi nga ng iba, mabuti pa si Gloria matibay kung manindigan sa mga isyu at hindi paiba-iba ang isip.
Wake up, Mr. President before you find yourself driven out of Malacanang.
