BY ISMAEL AMIGO, 1st-APLUMA NATIONAL PRESIDENTBOY, I am not surprised with President Aquino's announcement that he will replace three of his Cabinet members next year.
A shakeup is inevitable, considering the mediocre performance of some of his official family members that put the Chief Executive in bad light.
Also, the revamp will make room (or should I say payback), for some Aquino allies who served him well during the campaign period. Ehem..., excuse me po!
Meanwhile, members of the Liberal Party who lost in the May 2010 elections will have to wait until May this year to assume their new roles in the Aquino administration, most notably former Sen. Mar Roxas and ex-Bukidnon Rep. Nereus Acosta.
Reports have it that Roxas will replace Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa while Acosta will take the Department of Environment and Natural Resources portfolio from Ramon Paje.
If ever he will be given the DENR post, no one can question Acosta’s credentials and capability as he authored many environmental laws including the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act during his stint at the House of Representatives.
Acosta ran for the Senate under Aquino's Liberal Party in the elections in May this year but failed to secure a spot among the top 12 senatorial candidates.
Despite leading by more or less 50 percent in surveys, Roxas still failed to clinch the vice presidential post, losing to bitter rival and eventual winner Jejomar Binay.

Some Cabinet members are now sitting on pins and needles as they await their fate, if they will be joining the ranks of millions of unemployed Filipinos or not.
A Malacanang insider told me that Interior acting Secretary Jesse Robredo is one of those who will be given pink slips, considering his boo-boos handling the Manila hostage crisis and the persistent jueteng issue.
But Robredo will not be unemployed for long as President Aquino is planning to put him in charge of solving the perennial problem of informal settlers which he successfully handled when he was still mayor of Naga City.

As his “BOSS” (Like what he proclaimed during his inaugural speech “KAYO ANG BOSS KO”), we would like to give this piece of unsolicited advice for our Chief Executive: Please choose the best to avoid embarrassment.
As alter-ego, the performance of Cabinet members reflects on P-Noy’s leadership quality, which would be greatly affected if he keeps on choosing mediocre officials to handle different affairs of the government.
Wishing everyone a Prosperous New Year!
